I looked into a mirror,
That hung upon my wall.
It looked back at me,
And said nothing at all.
I noticed it had words that floated here and there-
A feeling here,
An emotion there,
And some angst everywhere.
I touched it with my finger,
And it pointed back at me.
I placed my face to it so near,
And it stared right back at me.
I saw a sigh, several falls;
And a myriad colours rise
And swirl into the halls
In which it kept the wise.
I saw it all, but there came no noise-
Not a sound, nor a note.
Fear I all things dumb and grim,
And so promptly the mirror I broke.
That hung upon my wall.
It looked back at me,
And said nothing at all.
I noticed it had words that floated here and there-
A feeling here,
An emotion there,
And some angst everywhere.
I touched it with my finger,
And it pointed back at me.
I placed my face to it so near,
And it stared right back at me.
I saw a sigh, several falls;
And a myriad colours rise
And swirl into the halls
In which it kept the wise.
I saw it all, but there came no noise-
Not a sound, nor a note.
Fear I all things dumb and grim,
And so promptly the mirror I broke.
