Episode 66: Existence

A walk by the ocean,
Met with a walk down the street.
The street was lean and mean,
And the ocean, very sweet...

But they let their walks entwine,
For the compromise was fair.
"Your sand can on my space whine,"
"And I will, on yours, set my lair..."

The street invited a mansion.
The mansion invited people.
People invited possession.
And that's when Trouble did quadruple...

The man fenced the street in.
The woman swept the shore out.
The boy wished to have the waves in.
But the girl wished them out...

The man would not allow the wish of the boy.
The woman stood by the girl.
"The waves do not suit the boy."
"And the sand is too much of a swirl..."

And so the walk down the street,
Parted from that by the ocean.
Later, they did try to meet.
But, barriers were taught to be mean...

Once in a while, the ocean longs for those walks.
Once in a while, the street dusts its memories.
That's the while the ocean, in passion, stalks.
That's the while the street its estrangement buries...

A wave then does fly through the fence,
And makes love to the street in a flash.
For how can the ocean fain indifference
To a walk that it cherished...
To a moment that it nurtured...
To a feeling that it fostered...
To a love that left a deep howling gash...
