Episode 63: Detachment

A petal so tender,
Let go of its grip so slender,
And wandered into the strange, frightening night.

She put her arm around the wind so light;
Its presence was sheer delight;
And she sailed into the sensual, haunting night.

Dark were the alleys,
Sombre, the valleys;
She saw not a speck,
But nudged into her lover's neck.

For in the wind she saw solace,
And a dream tied with a lovely lace.
She saw the world of stars,
And the serenity that, to her, was ever afar.

She was happy, though she was blind,
For at her side was the wind-
So gentle and kind.

She was content though she knew nothing,
For the wind gave her a song to sing,
and a reason for being.

And then the Moon lit her way,
And she saw no one was there.
She was alone in her sway,
And oh! She fell into nowhere.

Her heart, out of her, ripped.
Her soul, out of her, slipped.
And this widow,
Began to yearn for her days at the meadow.
